"From New York to Rio"
The jazz vocalist Ondina Sannino is accompanied by a trio of extraordinary musicians: Gianpio Vetromile on piano, Domenico Andria on bass, Stefano Tatafiore on drums.
Ondina Sannino, jazz vocalist of proven experience, with her cd "Homage to Wayne Shorter" has been noticed by the specialized critics for the originality, the interpretative qualities and the ability shown in the use of vocal improvisation.
Artistically active for over 40 years, she has deepened the technical and musical studies related to singing and subsequently specialized in the style of jazz, and in particular in the study of scat, through schools, lessons and clinics with well-known teachers, including Bob Stoloff, Maria Pia De Vito, Norma Winstone.
She has collaborated over the years with well-known Italian and foreign musicians, curated the artistic direction of the festival Jazz in Parco (Nocera Inferiore) and various artistic events in our region, and carried out educational activities. In recent years she has undertaken a new personal research in the field of Brazilian music, and in particular bossa nova and samba, and it is in this direction that she has started a collaboration with Eddy Palermo, undisputed master among Italian musicians as regards the expression of this musical genre. A great fan of Brazilian music, she presents together with her Trio a repertoire that alternates great jazz classics with the bossa nova, demonstrating how the language of jazz is able to breathe new life into musical traditions seemingly foreign to the context in which jazz has developed, but during the concert there will be other musical forays into the most current African American music.
